Québec to Advance Ambitious Solar Plans

Pierre Arcand, Québec’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources has unveiled the Action Plan 2017-2020 that contains 42 specified measures and represents an investment of $1.5 billion for Québec’s energy transition. The action plan includes the development of a 100 MW utility-scale solar facility and a “smart and solar home” demonstration program.

John Gorman, President and CEO of the Canadian Solar Industries Association, released the following statement:

“Across the country, more and more provinces are viewing solar energy as a mainstream source for future electricity supply. The actions announced today reaffirm Québec as a renewable energy giant and an environmental leader.”
