ESN Adds MELTRIC Switch-Rated Plugs & Receptacles

August 19, 2026

ESN is happy to announce that MELTRIC has joined the ESN line card. For electrical contractors, distributors, and industrial customers who need a safe way to connect and disconnect power under load, MELTRIC is one of the most respected names in the business, and ESN is proud to bring their products to ESN’s customers.

Who Is MELTRIC?

MELTRIC has been manufacturing industrial plugs and receptacles in North America since 1982. The company is based in Franklin, Wisconsin, and is a subsidiary of Marechal Electric, which introduced the world to DECONTACTOR technology in 1952. That technology is the foundation of their UL-listed Switch-Rated devices, which combine the safety of a disconnect switch with the convenience of a plug and receptacle and can be connected and disconnected safely under full load. MELTRIC is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and most orders ship within two days of receipt.

What Products Does MELTRIC Offer?

MELTRIC’s product line covers most of what an industrial or commercial job needs for plug-and-receptacle connections.

Switch-Rated Plugs and Receptacles are the flagship line. The DSN and DS Series devices are UL/CSA listed for branch circuit and motor circuit disconnect switching, so they can be used to make and break connections under load without arc flash exposure or the need for PPE.

The High Ampacity line includes the new P66, rated at 660 A and 1,100 VAC for larger electrification applications. Multipin devices handle power, control, and monitoring for multiple circuits through a single connector. Hazardous Location and Hazardous Location Multipin products are built for Div 2 Class 1 & 2 and Zone 2 environments where fire or explosion risk is a concern.

Beyond that, MELTRIC also makes Standard DutyHigh TempDirect Current, and Self-Ejecting devices for washdown areas, high-heat environments, DC power, and mobile equipment, along with Power Distribution products like portable rubber boxes, multigang steel enclosures, dual voltage wall boxes, and circuit-protected receptacles for indoor or outdoor use.

You’ll find MELTRIC devices in power generation, water and wastewater, mining and aggregate, food and beverage, oil and gas, and data center applications, and on motors, pumps, welders, generators, and mobile equipment across those industries.

Why MELTRIC?

Facilities are under more pressure than ever to cut changeout time, simplify lockout-tagout, and stay compliant with NFPA 70E and CSA Z462. A switch-rated connector that can be visually de-energized and disconnected under load addresses all three, and it’s a meaningful step up in safety from a standard plug and receptacle. MELTRIC’s engineering history with DECONTACTOR technology, backed by Marechal Electric’s global manufacturing base, makes them a strong addition to ESN’s electrical partners lineup and a good fit for the contractors and installers and electrical distributors ESN works with across its territory.
