Show Report: Hannover Messe Trade Fair

Show Report

Apr 15, 2019

The Hannover Messe Trade Fair in Germany, held this year at the beginning of April, is the world’s largest trade show for integrated automation, motion, drives and energy, hosting 6,500 exhibitors and well over 200,000 attendees from around the world.

The show is the most focused trade fair globally for manufacturers to display and provide deep education regarding product lines and solutions that will be unveiled throughout the year. The size and scope of the show is almost beyond comprehension. The level of sophistication in how manufacturers provide insight is also something that anyone involved in the industry should see at least once in their career. Many booths are sprawling showcases that reach 10,000-15,000 square feet and provide hands-on learning experiences and often direct educational seminars that all are welcome to attend.

For Canadians, and distributors in particular, the show can provide valuable insight into what products and solutions will be offered by major manufacturers in the coming months. Many products developed by global manufacturers are introduced first to the European and U.S. markets before they are approved and sold within Canada.

Gaining advanced knowledge and awareness of what will soon be released in Canada can provide a substantial advantage for Canadian distributors that are focused on providing their clients with the most-up-to-date product information possible. Advanced knowledge of what is coming down the pipe can further ensure that you are updating your clients of new products and trends that may serve their needs better than current offerings, ensuring that you maintain your clients confidence and trust that you are a go to source not just for products and components but industry knowledge.
