ETIM North America recently announced that Service Wire Co. has joined the product classification standards organization.

Highly experienced in serving the heavy commercial, industrial, utility and renewable energy markets in the US and Canada, Service Wire is eager to assist in standardizing industry product information.

“Service Wire’s partnership with ETIM is a critical initiative for our company,” explained Chuck Oldaker, Executive Vice President and CFO. “We want to ensure that our partners receive readily available, consistent product information—enhancing the customer experience. By working collaboratively through ETIM, we will globally increase our product visibility and support BIM essential for our valued customers.”

As a direct member, Service Wire will have access to ETIM developed tools and participate in many ETIM North America Product Expert Groups, including the wire and cable category.

“Having Service Wire join us is very important as they recognize the value that the ETIM model brings to the wire and cable product category and how they can apply it in their business,” commented Mary Shaw, Executive Director of ETIM North America. “Their visionary leadership will help accelerate product attribution in the wire and cable product category.”

Shaw further commented that it is important that manufacturers and distributors of all sizes, who value channel efficiency and recognize that the electrical ecosystem is undergoing a digital transformation, be part of the process.

The more companies involved, the quicker the refinement of the model to North American products can be completed. Today, over 30 companies are participating in ETIM North America.
