Canada’s next generation of expert engineers, technicians and managers are invited to apply to represent the country at the next International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Young Professionals Workshop during the 84th IEC General Meeting. Detailed information about the application process and eligibility is available on the Call for applications page. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2020 at 11:50 p.m. E.T.

This workshop is a unique opportunity for young professionals to grow professionally and help shape the future of international standardization and conformity assessment. Last year, it brought together over 80 representatives from more than 40 countries to exchange ideas and learn about wide ranging issues at the technical, economic, political and global levels.

Two young professionals will be selected by the Canadian National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (CANC/IEC) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to represent Canada, all expenses paid, at the workshop and general assembly from November 9 to 13, 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland*.

*COVID-19

IEC and SCC are monitoring the situation closely. Meetings until the end of July are either postponed or taking place virtually. Given that the IEC General Assembly is scheduled for November, plans will be revisited as needed as the situation evolves.
