LEDVANCE Appoints Jim Johnson Managing Director for U.S. and Canada

January 26, 2018

Jim Johnson brings decades of lighting experience to this new position, including first-hand knowledge of Osram Sylvania heritage through his past roles with the organization. From his start with GTE Sylvania in 1985, Jim has held positions of increasing responsibility across multiple locations and businesses, including leadership of the Valeo Sylvania joint venture and culminating in his role as CEO of Osram’s global traditional lamps business.

“Jim is an effective, efficient manager with a keen sense of how to lead in a complex, strategic environment,” says Erol Kirilmaz, board member and Global Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, LEDVANCE. “We are confident that his leadership will strengthen our ongoing transformation and help position LEDVANCE for increased success in the future.”

“This is the beginning of a new year for LEDVANCE, and with that means new opportunities for our employees and customers. I look forward to working with the team to find ways to be more agile and responsive to our customers’ needs for our combined success,” says Johnson. “Part of this involves bringing lighting innovations to the market faster so our customers can take advantage of the latest in lighting trends in order to increase sales and differentiate themselves. We are investing in local research and development and in offering LED products that are assembled by our US factory workers. Together with our customers, LEDVANCE and the Sylvania product brand will continue to break new ground and achieve excellence.”
