EFC Announces Ioan Buzdugan as New Director of Standards and Business Sections

Electro Federation Canada (EFC) is pleased to announce that Ioan Buzdugan has joined as its new Director of Standards and Business Sections.

Ioan Buzdugan joins EFC from the automotive manufacturing industry where he focused on technical standards and strategies for industrial automation. He is an accomplished engineering leader with a broad background in automation and advanced manufacturing, and a strong track record of driving change through both direct leadership and cross-functional advisory roles. Ioan has made contributions to Canadian and International industry standards both in leadership positions and as a technical expert, with a focus on safety.

In his new role at EFC, Ioan will:

  • Lead the Section Advisory Council, bringing together the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the Business Sections.
  • Lead the Regulations Advisory Committee responsible for regulatory and compliance alignment within the Business Sections
  • Lead EFC’s regulatory submissions on behalf of the Business Sections
  • Oversee stakeholder relations on behalf of the Business Sections

Ioan’s work on codes and standards will include participation on several codes and standards committees, including:

  • Leading EFC’s CE Code Associate and Voting members
  • CANENA Executive Committee
  • Strategic Steering Committees at CSA
  • Standards Council of Canada’s Canadian National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (CANC/IEC)

EFC is excited to have Ioan Buzdugan’s expertise, leadership, and strategic insight supporting EFC’s work in codes, standards, and regulatory engagement.
