“I am truly inspired by the performance of our Distributors and Suppliers,” said Jim Milne, President of Affiliated Distributors (AD) Canada. “Our market leading growth is fuelled by our exclusive AD Rewards program and the power of many entrepreneurs working together to provide exceptional end user value. Our North American Meeting was another outstanding success. Our focus on Canadian owned businesses and their ability to inspire their teams to outperform in their local markets is evident by our continued performance.”

Bill Weisberg, AD’s Chairman and CEO, provided a clear call to action to the AD membership in his speech: “We need a community that is united in its commitment to fight with our strategic competitors — to protect and preserve independent distributors. That community is Affiliated Distributors. We are growing AD in order to have the resources to help you fight that battle… Your part in this fight is significant… We need your voice through Networks, Committees and Boards, to help us navigate where we can deploy our resources to help you compete effectively in the market place not today, but in the future.”

Affiliated Distributors honoured their members and supplier partners during the Spirit of Independence Awards Banquet.

The following Canadian companies received these coveted AD awards:

• Franklin Empire: Best Annual Planning Process

• Robertson Electric Wholesale Ltd.: Canadian Affiliate of the Year for Performance

• Philips Lighting Canada: Canadian Supplier of the Year for Performance

Affiliated Distributors is the largest Industrial and construction products marketing group in North America. The organization’s 540 plus independently owned members span seven industries and three countries with annual sales in excess of US$30 Billion.
