Electro-Federation Canada Welcomes Patrick McManus as Incoming President & CEO

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick McManus as President & CEO, effective October 13, 2026.
McManus will succeed Carol McGlogan, who is retiring following 10 years with EFC. McGlogan will remain with the organization through the end of 2026 to support a smooth leadership transition.
McManus is an experienced association executive and people leader who has worked with manufacturers, distributors and contractors on advocacy, government relations, labour relations and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as Executive Director of both the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association and the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors’ Association, providing strategic leadership on issues affecting Ontario’s civil construction sector.
“Patrick brings the leadership experience, collaborative approach and strategic perspective needed to represent EFC’s diverse membership and guide the association into its next chapter,” said Catherine McKeown, Chair of EFC’s Board of Directors. “Following a rigorous and thoughtful search process, the Search Committee was confident that he is the right leader to build on EFC’s established foundation and advance its vision and mission.”
Throughout his career, McManus has worked with industry, government and business stakeholders to advance shared priorities. His experience with manufacturers, distributors and industry associations will support EFC’s work on behalf of its members and the broader sector.
“I am honoured to join EFC and to have the opportunity to represent a membership that is playing such an important role in Canada’s economic growth and electrified future,” said McManus. “What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to get to know the members, understand their priorities, and work closely with the Board and staff to build on the strong foundation this organization has established.”
The appointment follows an extensive executive search led by a Search Committee comprising representatives from each of EFC’s membership categories and supported by Boyden, a global executive search firm. The Committee developed the search mandate with input from key stakeholders, reviewed a broad field of qualified candidates, and conducted multiple stages of interviews before reaching a clear consensus to recommend McManus for the role.
“Through the selection process, I was impressed by Patrick’s thoughtful questions, willingness to learn and genuine interest in EFC and our team,” said McGlogan. “I believe he will be a strong people leader and an excellent fit for our organization.”
