EWEL and ABB Announce New Strategic Distribution Partnership

EWEL is excited to announce a new strategic partnership with ABB, effective June 8, 2026.
As part of this transition, EWEL’s VP & General Manager, David Carson, has shared an important message outlining the reasons behind this decision, what it means for the company’s customers and employees, and how it positions EWEL for long-term growth and success.
In his message, David Carson shares that after many successful years of offering Schneider distribution products, EWEL has made the strategic decision to transition to ABB distribution moving forward, and expressed sincere thanks in his message for the continued trust, loyalty, and partnership over the years.
This was not a decision made quickly or lightly. EWEL’s leadership team spent a significant amount of time evaluating market conditions, supplier alignment, customer needs, and long-term growth opportunities to ensure they made the best possible decision to better serve customers now and into the future.
This transition is about strengthening EWEL’s ability to support its customers for the long term — providing enhanced service and more solutions.
This decision was driven by several important factors:
- Reduced competition within the Edmonton market
- Broader product portfolio, including automation, MV, VFDs, and utility products
- Strong service capabilities and long-term support commitments.
