Three years ago, Eaton Canada’s Power Quality division was approached by Bridge to Health, a passionate group of medical and dental professionals brought together by a common desire to help provide healthcare to those in tremendous need. The group were seeking technical advice. Essentially, the poor quality of electrical power in places where the group works causes serious damage to medical equipment. In response, says Umesh J. Patel, General Manager at Eaton Power Quality Division, Canada, ‘‘We have lent them UPS units and equipment to protect their medical devices. It’s a relatively low cost investment providing great value. Our equipment costs less than $4,000, but protects tens of thousands of dollars of medical equipment and enables Bridge to Health to save and treat thousands of patients.”

“The UPS was amazing and works very well and is always running with our generator,” says Mindy Levine, Board of Directors, Bridge to Health. “Over the course of two weeks we saw nearly 8,000 patients across eight rural communities.” To learn more about Bridge to Health or to make a contribution, visit: http://bridgetohealth.ca/.
