Working Towards Net-Zero Emissions

Net-Zero Emissions

February 27, 2023

Canada has committed to a net-zero economy by 2050, and the Electrical Industry plays an essential part in achieving that national goal.  E.B. Horsman & Son was part of an industry delegation that joined the Electro Federation of Canada (EFC) on Parliament Hill, discussing strategic initiatives to decarbonize Canada through electrification.

As a member of the EFC and vice Chair of the EFC Board, E.B. Horsman & Son’s CFO Renee Lytle represented E.B. Horsman & Son and the west.

“EFC is the only organization in Canada focused on the broader electrical industry and we are a committed partner to Canadian lawmakers as a strategic enabler in the fight against climate change,” said Renee Lytle. “EFC’s first ‘Parliament Day’ was a successful first step in what will be an ongoing government relationship program.”

EFC staff, members of parliament, and policy makers

This two-day event provided the EFC members insights that will help engage with the government, offering solutions that will be mutually beneficial. As the cities expand and the demand for electricity increases, EFC will continue to work towards its mission of powering a changing world, addressing topics such as grid decarbonization and modernization, building efficiency and heat electrification, electrical vehicle charging, and infrastructure, to reach the net-zero target.

E.B. Horsman & Son are proud to be part of the EFC and will continue to work towards sustainable solutions to reach the net-zero emissions target.
