Southwire Canada Reorganizes with New Market Facing Structure

Southwire Canada reorganizes

Southwire Canada will reorganize to align with the company’s new corporate structure as well as with its customers and channel partners. With the creation of the Construction Systems and Solutions Group, led by Norman Adkins, and the Power Systems and Solutions Group, led by Charlie Murrah, Southwire has reorganized into business groups that reflect its approach to the market and best serve the needs of its customers.

“As we move forward with an ever expanding portfolio of products and solutions which serve markets with increasingly diverse needs, it is vital that we align our organization to best meet the requests of our customers,” says Axel Schlumberger, president of Southwire Canada. “Our new structure provides us with the opportunity to implement that alignment in Canada with a strong focus on our channel partners and markets.”

The Canadian organization will be restructured into market facing groups:

  • Rick Vascotto will lead Southwire Canada’s distribution channel as Vice President, Distribution Systems and Solutions Sales. Rick joins Southwire with more than 25 years of experience in the North American wire and cable industry. Within the distribution channel, he will manage electrical distribution sales for all products, contractor innovation and wire and cable product management.
  • René Roy will serve Southwire Canada’s key markets as Vice President, Power Systems and Solutions Sales. René, who joined Southwire Canada in 2011, served most recently as Vice President of Energy Sales and has more than 15 years of experience in operations, technical and sales in the wire and cable industry. In addition to sales, he will also manage technical sales and support.
  • Mike Kostesku will lead Southwire Canada’s retail channel as Vice President, Retail Channel Sales. Mike joined Southwire Canada in 2014 with 25 years of experience in the hardware and retail business. Within the retail channel, he will manage big box, mass merchant, independent hardware, STAFDA and online channel partners. His responsibilities also include tools, meters, accessories and assembled products across channels in Canada.

“These leaders bring the industry experience, expertise and leadership needed to move Southwire Canada forward,” says Schlumberger. “Their focus on our channel partners and customers, combined with the support of our sales offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal and our Canadian distribution centers allow us the opportunity to grow and sustain our success well into the future.”
