SLS Group Announces Change in Ownership

April 30, 2025

In a bold move that underscores the power of experience and dedication, three long-term employees: Ryan Cattermole, Nitin Naidu and Douglas McDonald, have ascended to ownership roles at SLS Group Industries Inc., a premier lighting sales agency operating in British Columbia, Canada.

Ryan Cattermole, a Red Seal certified professional, joined SLS in June 2017, bringing a combination of fresh energy and valuable technical expertise to the team. Nitin Naidu joined in March 2015, playing a major role in driving SLS’s growth and ongoing success. Industry veteran and B.Sc. Graduate Douglas McDonald has been a key contributor since November 2013, leveraging his business acumen and extensive experience in lighting controls to help solidify the company’s foundation.

This transition marks a significant shift in the agency’s leadership dynamics, emphasizing a commitment to growth and innovation. It offers the new owners a chance to introduce fresh ideas and strategies, driving SLS forward and helping us better serve both our current and future customers.

“Ownership is not just about titles; it’s about vision and responsibility,” said Brian Poole, General Manager and current co-owner of SLS. “These individuals have consistently demonstrated their ability to drive results and inspire teams. Their journey from employees to owners exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit we champion.” Alongside Brian Poole and co-owner Ching Wee, the three new owners bring a wealth of expertise, having collectively contributed over 40 years to the agency’s success. Their leadership will continue to shape SLS’s strategic direction, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the lighting industry across the Province of British Columbia.
