National Symposium: Preparing Youth for Careers in the Skilled Trades

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum (CAF-FCA) is hosting a National Symposium: Preparing Youth for Careers in the Skilled Trades on October 24-25 in Ottawa, ON.  

Participants from across the apprenticeship community will help determine how CAF-FCA can provide young people with a better understanding of the value of apprenticeship and skilled trades careers.

  • Gain insights from CAF-FCA stakeholder consultations and learn about the latest apprenticeship research findings from Statistics Canada 
  • Participate in break-out sessions on topics including pre-apprenticeship, women in trades, completion and apprentice mobility
  • Learn about effective career awareness communication techniques and identify best practices
  • Engage in discussion, explore partnerships and help develop key messages to engage youth 
  • Inform future CAF-FCA resources for youth, parents and educators that will get them excited about careers in the skilled trades

Registration for the symposium is $299 + tax. A number of discounted registrations are available for CAF-FCA members. Discount codes have been provided to the CAF-FCA contact within your organization.
