Power management company Eaton’s journey to become a leader in the movement for equality has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

Eaton will receive the 2017 Corporate Equality Award at the HRC Cleveland Gala Dinner and Auction August 26. The award recognizes companies that show an exceptional level of commitment to equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Eaton was also named one of the best places to work in 2017 by the HRC.

“Our commitment to all forms of diversity widens our access to the best talent and inclusion allows us to engage that talent fully,” said Cathy Medeiros, vice president, Inclusion & Diversity, Eaton. “We believe every individual’s unique perspectives and life experiences help to form a more powerful organization.”

“We want to send a message that love will conquer hate,” said Suzanne Hamilton, HRC Board of Directors and sponsorship co-chair for the Cleveland Steering Committee. “We are proud to recognize Eaton as a leader in this fight to ensure that all people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in in every community.”
