CSA Group Announces Leadership Changes, Shares Strategic Vision

September 11, 2016

CSA Group has implemented the following leadership changes: Mary Cianchetti will become the new President of Standards.

Mary, a proven leader within Standards with a strong technical background, has played a number of leadership roles within Standards, most recently in a Director role with dual responsibility for both Membership and Health & Safety Standards programs.

Karim Nazarali, currently Director of CSA’s Electrical Standards program, will become VP, Electrical and Gas Products Standards. This is a new role within Standards that will focus on the important intersection of Standards development and TIC activity.

Since joining CSA Group ten months ago, David Weinstein, President and CEO, has been working closely with his leadership team on a strategic review, with valuable input and guidance from CSA’s board of directors. Among the notable elements of CSA’s strategic vision are:

  • an increasingly proactive role by CSA Group in conducting research, identifying the need for new standards, and driving their development
  • a greater focus on coordination between the Standards organization and its TIC business in the area of standards for electrical and gas products. The goal: to ensure that CSA Group can respond more effectively to standards gaps that arise with the introduction of new technologies and product types.
