BJ Electric Donates $10,000 to the Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre in Support of Child Abuse Prevention

August 14, 2025
BJ Electric is proud to announce a $10,000 charitable contribution to the Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, reinforcing its commitment to supporting vulnerable children and youth across Alberta.
While originally slated for October to coincide with Canada’s Child Abuse Prevention Month, BJ Electric accelerated the donation to meet the immediate needs of the Zebra Centre. The donation was made through Rogers Birdies for Kids Presented by AltaLink, enabling matching funds to increase the overall impact.
“The work the Zebra Centre does is critical to our community,” said Brendan Thompson, President of BJ Electric. “We believe every child deserves safety, dignity, and a strong support system, and we’re honoured to play a role in furthering that mission.”
The Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre is a frontline organization that delivers coordinated, child-focused services to children who have experienced abuse, bringing law enforcement, child protection, medical, and mental health professionals together under one roof.
“This cause is deeply meaningful not just to us at BJ Electric, but to the broader electrical industry in Alberta,” said Rob Littlemore, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at BJ Electric. “As an Associate Member of the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA), we and the other members recognize the incredible work the Zebra Centre does and are proud to support a charity that aligns with the ECAA’s values and commitment to child welfare in our province.”
“We are so grateful for the generous support from BJ Electric,” said Emmy Stuebing, Chief Executive Officer of the Zebra Centre. “Every dollar helps us provide hope, healing, and justice for children who need us most.”
This contribution reflects BJ Electric’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community well-being, particularly in areas of child safety and support.
