EFC’s National Advisory Council: Change of Chairmanship

CEW EFC Advisory Council 400

May 31, 2021

Earlier this week, EFC hosted a National Advisory Council* (NAC) virtual meeting to share committee/network program highlights and to officially mark the change of NAC chairmanship.

The NAC team thanked Steve Branscombe, Independent Electric for his term as Chair, recognizing his commitment to creating a stronger foothold for NAC during this year of unprecedented changes. Steve has helped create a formal structure for NAC and EFC’s regions by supporting the development of Terms of Reference guides to outline succession planning, committee representation, and mandate. He has also helped shape the programming for EFC’s virtual conference and will be involved in the rollout of this event this September. Steve is a member of EFC’s Board and continues to serve in an advisory role in EFC’s Ontario Region. We thank Steve for his time and dedication to EFC, and in lieu of a gift, he has requested a donation be made to Southlake Hospital’s ICU department.

Cindy Doherty, Intralec Electrical Products, was named the new Chair of NAC. Her one-year team took effect on May 25, 2021. Cindy is a past chair of CEMRA (2011) and was honoured with the CEMRA Person of the Year award in 2019. She also most recently served as co-chair of the Ontario Region Women’s Network. We look forward to working with Cindy as we ‘move beyond the horizon’ and enter a post-pandemic market and look forward to her guidance on driving new initiatives forward for the association that span talent attraction, workforce development, and mental wellness.
