The 2020 Industry Awards Ceremony Recap: EFC Ends the Year in Celebration

On December 10th, EFC held its first virtual Industry Awards event which was a year-end celebration recognizing key industry leaders. The celebration was followed by EFC’s first-ever Talent Show. Click here for the recap of the Electrical Industry’s Got Talent (EIGT).

It was a great opportunity to honour individuals and their companies for their outstanding contributions, support, and leadership in the electrical industry.

With over 250 registrants, the Awards’ emcee, Steve Branscombe, Independent Electric Supply, NAC Chair, expressed his delight with the virtual turnout. “This year has been like no other, but the resiliency and support of the electrical industry was once again on full display during our first-ever virtual Industry Awards program,” says Branscombe.  “Congratulations to all the awards winners. Your leadership and contributions to the electrical industry is appreciated by all.  Also, a special thanks to the award presenters and the EFC staff who came together to deliver a great program.”

Steve Branscombe also announced next year’s conference dates, Sept 21-24th. EFC hopes to host a live conference event in Niagara Falls, but is working with the National Advisory Council to develop alternate plans (such as a hybrid or virtual conference) if gatherings are not safe or permitted in late fall. Stay tuned for the details.

Carol McGlogan, EFC’s president and CEO, delivered a year-end review thanking the EFC membership for their strong support and engagement this year.  “The industry was productive and we got things done. The theme for 2021 is resiliency. Our objective is to help our members come out stronger from this unprecedented situation.  We are planning a robust education component to help navigate the economy, the changes in customer and employee expectations, and changes to the supply chain among many other top-of-mind issues and concerns.”

Carol, on behalf of the entire EFC team, concluded the Awards ceremony by wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
