Feb 4, 2019

Sonepar has promoted Kevin Bain to Regional Director, Dixon Electric. In this new role Kevin will be responsible for the overall Dixon business, and effective immediately all branch managers will report to Kevin directly.

Dixon Electric is poised for many years of significant growth. Kevin has been with Dixon Electric for over 25 years and was also one of the owners of the business before Dixon was bought by Sonepar Canada. He has played an instrumental role in the Sudbury business success, and in 2018 he took on responsibility for the Sault Ste. Marie location and its recent expansion.

In the near future, Kevin will hire a replacement for himself as branch manager of the Sudbury branch. In the meantime, all employees of Dixon Sudbury will continue to report directly to Kevin.

In other Sonepar news, the company has entered into an agreement to acquire North Coast Electric in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. North Coast Electric employs 700 associates and has annual revenues close to US$600 million.

Family owned and operated since 1913, North Coast is one of the largest and fastest growing electrical distributors in the U.S., offering a full line card of commercial, residential and industrial electrical products. This acquisition adds 34 branches to Sonepar’s existing USA network in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Arizona.
