October 1, 2025
In late August, Houle were proud to announce that they had been selected as the electrical and technology contractor for the new BC Cancer centre at the Royal Inland Hospital campus in Kamloops.
Located adjacent to Royal Inland Hospital, this five-storey cancer centre will provide people in BC’s Interior with expanded access to cancer care closer to home. As part of BC’s 10-Year Cancer Action Plan, the new facility will blend advanced cancer care and Indigenous culture through an inclusive, patient-centric design.

Once complete, the new centre will include:
- Dedicated spaces for advanced radiation therapy, including three linear accelerator vaults
- A CT Simulator and MRI suite
- An outpatient ambulatory-care unit
- Spiritual healing garden and sacred ceremonial space
Houle said on LinkedIn that they looked forward to working alongside EllisDon, Interior Health Authority, BC Cancer, and local project partners to bring this vital healthcare facility to life.
“The new BC Cancer centre will showcase our in-house expertise in delivering complex electrical and technology solutions. Our scope of work covers electrical construction, including a 350kW photovoltaic system, along with full IMIT integration of fire alarm systems, structured cabling, nurse call, security and duress systems, access control, CCTV, and Distributed Antenna Systems.”
