February 7, 2024

ETIM North America has recently announced that Hammond Power Solutions, one of the largest manufacturers of dry-type transformers in North America, has joined the North American chapter of the global product classification standards organization.

As a major transformer and power quality manufacturer, Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) is committed to helping the industry ecosystem refine product classification systems to support the industry’s digitalization evolution.  Hammond recognizes that utilization of a standardized data format can improve industry data communication, improve customer experience, and reduce supply chain costs.

“For over 100 years, HPS has engineered and manufactured a wide range of standard and custom transformers that are exported globally in electrical equipment and systems.  Our products can be found on every continent, in every ocean and have even orbited in space,” stated David Kinsella, Chief Commercial Officer at Hammond Power Solutions.  “We are excited to bring our expertise to ETIM North America’s important initiative for our local market, and beyond.”

“We welcome HPS’ participation in ETIM North America”, commented Mary Shaw, Executive Director of ETIM North America.  “Their knowledge and expertise in dry-type magnetics, makes them a valuable asset in refining and enhancing the ETIM model to meet the needs of not only North America but also globally.”

She added “ETIM North America is a collaborative process where all direct members can contribute to define product classification standards that will drive our industry forward and contribute on a global stage. It is important that manufacturers and distributors, of all sizes and product types support the electrical industry ecosystem’s digital transformation and actively participate in the classification process.”
