Eaton Awards 2 EFC Scholarships

EFC Scholarships

Students Eric Willcock (Georgian College, Ontario) and Kristopher Graff (MacEwan University, Alberta) have each been awarded a $3500 scholarship from Eaton under Electro-Federation Canada’s 2015 scholarship program. Both students will also be considered for either a permanent or summer employment position with Eaton’s electrical sector in Canada.

Eaton scholarships are awarded to university or college students who have completed at least one year of academic studies with a minimum 80% average (2.5 GPA), and whose parent/legal guardian is a full-time employee of an Electro-Federation Canada member in good standing.

This year, EFC and its members and participants are providing students with $120,500 in funding across 52 scholarships. Engaging university and college students is critical to our industry, says Joris Myny, Chair of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC)’s scholarship program and a senior vice president of Siemens Canada Limited. Myny describes the scholarship program as more than funding students. “It is an opportunity to promote our industry in every Canadian university and college and showcase the electrical industry as a viable career choice in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Management, Operations, Information Technology and Human Resources.”

Eaton’s electrical business is a global leader with expertise in power distribution and circuit protection, backup power protection, control and automation, lighting and security, structural solutions and wiring devices, solutions for harsh and hazardous environments, and engineering services. Eaton is positioned through its global solutions to answer today’s most critical electrical power management challenges.
