Daltco Announces Retirement of Peter Dalton

November 29, 2023

By François Deschênes, President and CEO, Deschenes Group

It is with mixed feelings that I announce that Peter Dalton will be retiring on February 2, 2024.

After starting his career in sales and marketing roles in other industries, Peter joined the family business in 1997 and became President of Daltco when his father retired two years later. Under Peter’s leadership, Daltco consistently grew faster than the market to become the premier electrical distributor in Eastern Ontario, and one of Canada’s prominent regional electrical wholesalers. To support Daltco’s growth, the Brockville branch underwent significant expansion in 2006 and the Ottawa branch moved into a new, significantly larger space in 2010. In 2022, Daltco was awarded gold level in the Canada’s Best Managed Company program.

Over the years, Peter has been recognized for his leadership and professionalism, particularly in various industry roles including Board member of the Electro Federation Canada for several years and currently Chairman of the Board for AD Electrical – Canada. He has also been an active contributor in his community through various roles, including as Governor of the Kingston General Hospital and Board member for St Lawrence College Foundation.

I want to thank Peter for supporting and facilitating the transition of Daltco within the Deschenes Group, and wish him and his wife a long, healthy and well-deserved retirement.
