CVTech Appoints Alstom’s Gauthier as President

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC. — CVTech Group has appointed Pierre Gauthier as president and CEO, a role he’ll officially take over on August 11, 2014.

Jacques Joly, chairman of the board and interim president and CEO of the CVTech, said Gauthier is a highly talented and experienced manager. “He also possesses a knowledge of the industry in which CVTech Group operates and will be able to pursue the corporation’s strategic objectives and increase shareholder value.”

Gauthier has served as director and member of the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Corporation since December 2013, and is currently Chairman of the Board and CEO of Alstom Power & Transport Canada. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Centre de commercialisation en innovation manufacturière, a director of Alstom Grid Canada and Alstom Sitca, and a member of a number of Canadian and U.S. associations.

Gauthier graduated from École Polytechnique de Montréal with a degree in mechanical engineering and completed studies in business administration at McGill University and the European Institute of Business Administration. Gauthier has also been awarded France’s Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur, an honorary PhD from École Polytechnique de Montréal and the Jean-Jacques Archambault Award of the Association de l’industrie électrique du Québec.

Gauthier said he is eager to get to work and “collaborate with the current management team in pursuing the implementation of a new business model that will make CVTech a more efficient and competitive enterprise.”
