Southwire Announces Expansion of Youngsville Facility

November 19, 2024

In alignment with the company’s goals to best serve its customers and fulfill market needs, Southwire is expanding the footprint of its facility in Youngsville, N.C., by relocating operations to a new, larger building.

The new, 170k square foot facility, also in Youngsville, is nearly three times the size of Southwire’s existing Youngsville facility and is located just one mile away.

The move, which will be conducted throughout the final quarter of 2024, will give Southwire the ability to increase production capabilities and remain competitive in the rapidly expanding cabling solutions industry.

“We are incredibly proud of the growth our business has shown in Youngsville,” said Norman Adkins, Southwire’s chief operating officer. “This new facility will not only accommodate our ever-expanding operations but will also allow us to innovate and enhance our production capabilities for the future.”

The Youngsville facility, formerly DCN Cables, was acquired by Southwire in 2017. For seven years, the team there has served Southwire’s Electrical Products and Engineered Solutions (EP&ES) business, supporting the production and assembly of both made-to-stock and custom-ordered products for some of the company’s largest customers.

“The investment in this new facility is a reflection of the potential our team has demonstrated in a few key market verticals,” said Corky Whipple, vice president and general manager for engineered solutions. “We are thrilled to be able to expand our resources to facilitate this continued growth.”
