Industry Veteran Brian Shea Passes Away

Brian Shea

John Kerr

When Brian Shea passed away the Canadian electrical industry lost a great man. Brian passed away on April 30, 2015. Mr. Shea was a great friend of my father’s and from time to time you could find them off on a tennis court hammering away. He was a mentor and friend of so many of us. I remember Brian Shea well, always gracious, always giving, and always keen to help and give advice, support and coach. He had an independent soul but was so persistent few obstacles this industry threw at him stood in his way for long.

The obituary follows:

JOHN BRIAN SHEA April 4, 1928 – April 30, 2015 Brian passed away at home with his loving family by his side. He is mourned by the love of his life, Monica, and his sister Pauline Orr. He was an inspiration to his three adoring children, Geoffrey, Susan and Andrew, of whom he was so proud. His daughters-in-law Mara and Ilse loved him like a father, and he was cherished by his dear grandsons, Diego, Joschi, Atticus and Tredegar and his many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in Montreal and spent his early years there doing what he loved best, playing jazz. He subsequently joined the electrical distribution industry and moved his family throughout Canada where he made many new friends and always seized the day. Brian and Monica built Bodeswell, their residence in Mulmur, where the whole family felt truly at home. Brian was happiest entertaining friends and family while tickling the ivories. J.B. will always be remembered for his famous rendition of Fats Waller’s classic Your Feets Too Big……”but one never knows, do one?” Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 354 St. Clair Ave. W. at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015. – See more at: http://www.holyrosary.ca/
