IDEAL National Championship Reaches New Milestone

The 2018 IDEAL Nationals Championship is well underway across Canada. In fact, we have reached the halfway point in the Qualifying Round of our competition, which runs until October 5th. At the time of writing, we have completed an astounding 105 Nationals events in nine provinces from Nova Scotia to BC. This week we were excited to host our first event in Quebec, at the Westburne branch in Laval.

Word of the National Championship is spreading among electricians and apprentices – we are starting to see many familiar faces at our events as competitors try to shave seconds off their previous score times, in hopes of securing a ticket to the Championship Weekend in Orlando. In a competition where just one hundredth of a second could be all it takes to upset the leaderboard, some serious contenders are even ordering the Official Competition Board so that they can practice at home.

Will this strategy pay off? Only time will tell!

Some Recent Competition Highlights:

Canada East Territory: After being knocked off the leaderboard for Canada East by Mike Pentz (Mike Pentz Electrical Ltd.) at the Ideal Supply Stratford Tradeshow in May, Lance Giesbrecht (ELG Electric) was able to regain the top professional spot with an outstanding display of speed and agility at our Westburne Cambridge event.

Canada West Territory: This week we saw a shake-up when Tyler Hardy (Eckert Electric) and TJ Kuryluk (Panelpro) knocked both Lex Toews (Multiphase Solutions Inc.) and John Collins (Thompson Rivers University) off the leaderboard while competing at EB Horsman in Penticton, BC.
