Eaton and Employees Support Fort McMurray Relief Fund

July 8, 2016

In support of the many families and businesses whose lives were devastatingly impacted by the recent fires that swept through Northern Alberta, Eaton and its employees in Canada donated close to $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross towards the Fort McMurray relief fund. The amount of the Canadian donation does not include funds donated towards this effort by Eaton employees globally.

The wildfire began on May 3 and was finally declared under control two months later, on July 5, after having spread across 590,000 hectares. In Fort McMurray, the fire destroyed 2,400 homes and buildings. It is the costliest disaster in Canadian history.

Eaton’s electrical business has expertise in power distribution and circuit protection, backup power protection, control and automation, lighting and security, structural solutions and wiring devices, solutions for harsh and hazardous environments, and engineering services.
