AD Completes IDI Merger

As of April 1, the member owned buying/marketing group AD has completed a merger with IDI Independent Distributors Inc. IDI is now AD Canada Industrial & Safety, with IDI President Rob Dewar as President.

Among the merger highlights, IDI brings 103 independent industrial Canadian distributors with over 364 locations into the AD family. Ad also welcomes 21 new employees and a distribution centre located in Mississauga, Ontario as part of the transaction.

AD Canadian members represent 20% of AD consolidated sales. AD is the largest member owned contractor and industrial products wholesale buying/marketing group in North America. It provides independent distributors and manufacturers of construction and industrial products with support and resources that accelerate growth.

The 600 plus independently owned members span nine industries and three countries, with annual sales in excess of US$41 billion. AD served industries include electrical, industrial, safety, plumbing, PVF, HVAC, building materials, bearings and power transmission, and decorative brands.  AD Canadian members represent 20% of AD consolidated sales.
