The electrical industry lost one of our best recently with the passing of Jack Perry. Jack was one of those folks that gave back and helped so many of us succeed in the industry, independents, and nationals alike, manufacturers, competitors and even this lowly publisher felt Jack’s presence and support though our careers.

Jack drove and built Panduit in Canada and that’s where I met him and where his unique style and the way he coached me on the uniqueness of the electrical industry, the ties that bind and going beyond would make a difference.

The stories about Jack are too numerous to tell albeit it was his grace, and sincereness and caring complimented by his determination that set him apart. He did things unexpected but things that made people feel special and things that made us all smile. In my case , arriving at my office, after some time away racing sailboats  was a letter from Jack. It was crafted so well, and, in a way, that not only made me smile but made me cry. It was as I have said a great letter from one guy to another.

In so many ways Jack represented the essence of our industry, he gave back, and made sure the future was sound.
