This year’s EFC 2022 CEMRA Person of the Year Award recipient is John Richardson from Anamet Canada. This award recognizes an EFC member, individual, or company that makes a difference to CEMRA through their leadership, commitment, and outstanding contribution.

John began his career at Humelec Associates Ltd before moving to Pepperl+Fuchs and has spent the greater part of his career at Anamet Canada, where he is currently the VP of Sales. John participates actively in EFC, is the Vice-Chair of the CEMRA Manufacturer Group (CMG), and has been on the committee for a few years. John has also participated in the CMG Panel Presentations for the 2021 EFC Virtual Industry Conference and the 2022 EFC Industry Conference. The 2021 EFC CMG Panel presentation topic was derived from the NEMRA’s Rep of the Future Research Report. The 2022 CMG Panel focused on “Manufactures and Reps, Moving Forward… Defining Roles and Expectations”.

As stated in his nomination submission, “John is one of the most rep friendly manufacturers in the industry. He has worked for a rep firm and then moved to the manufacturing side. He has provided all his reps with easy-to-use reports, and his firm makes doing business easy for us”.

When asked what this award meant to him, John stated, “I am endlessly grateful to the industry for where it has led me and what it has allowed me to do. It must mean that I have been doing the right things, giving back to the organization and the CEMRA Members. When I look back through the other members who have received this award, I see who I view as industry leaders. While I don’t see myself as an industry leader, now having been awarded this honour, I see that what I am doing is helping them, and I am very honoured.”

Nominating a company or individual for their hard work and successful accomplishments builds our community to grow, lead and compete in an ever-changing world. Recognition can breed success.
