Shneider Energy UniversitySchneider Electric is making its Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) online certification program available through Energy University, a free, online, vendor-neutral education tool for energy management. The certification program provides foundational knowledge relevant to designing or upgrading physical data centres, including power, cooling, racks, cabling, fire protection, management, and physical security. It also serves as a standard for determining an individual’s core knowledge of data centre design, build and operations.

The certification program’s development path guides users through the preparation and course requirements necessary to prepare for the Data Center Certified Associate exam. There are 14 courses in the development path, and each course takes less than an hour to complete. Users who have completed the courses can easily take the exam through their Energy University account. Previously, the exam was offered only through a physical testing centre.

“Globally there is a high demand for skilled data centre professionals, and the challenges facing this industry in terms of growth, infrastructure, and management underscore this certification’s value,” says Michelle Souza, Program Manager, Energy University, Schneider Electric. “Energy University provides a smart, convenient way to expand skill sets and improve on-the-job performance with certifications for professionals in industries such as data centre, energy management and more.”
The DCCA online certification program is now the second qualifying exam available online through Energy University: the Professional Energy Manager (PEM) exam gives individuals an option for earning credentials in the energy management field.

Launched in 2009, Energy University’s complimentary online courses support anyone involved in the decision-making, management, planning, design, or construction of a space impacted by energy. Energy University has more than 350,000 users globally, and more than 500,000 courses have been taken.
